February(already)!?

We are now beginning the second month of the year. Now is a good time to measure your progress. If you have remained focus on your fitness goals, and have maintained your workout plan, you should be able to see some results by now. If not, you may need to change up your workout plan.

If you started your new workout regimen at the beginning of 2009, February 1st would have been a great day to see if you have made any improvements. If one of your goals  are to lose weight. I would recommend that you weigh yourself monthly as opposed to weekly, or even daily. By weighing yourself everyday, or every week, you stand the chance of disappointment if you discover that you have not dropped a pound. This disappointment might lead to a decrease in motivation. Which could lead to you quitting. So my advice is to weigh and measure your progress monthly.

And just because you are not losing weight, does not mean that you are not losing fat. Muscle is heavier than fat. If you are doing a weight training routine and you re busting your butt in the gym, but are not losing a pound, don't fret. You are doing the right thing by burning fat and building muscle. Which in the end will result in improved muscle tone and increased definition.
