Getting in shape by artificial means is like getting a lot of money without actually working hard at it. You wont be able to keep it because you did not work for it. To truly appreciate your new body, you have to work hard to get it. By putting in the hours and days during the week to get in better shape, will make you be less likely to allow yourself to get back into the bad habits that you had before. Not that it is important for others to give us validation, but as soon as the compliments start coming in, you will do more to keep the compliments coming.
Once you start getting in shape, you will begin to improve yourself esteem. Which will make you want to maintain the progress that you have made. You are not going to achieve any great results overnight. But the desired results will be achieved if you stay focused and stick with the program. I once heard that the way to eat an entire elephant is by taking one bit at a time. This is the mind set that you must adopt in order to stay on task with regards to your workout plan.
So do not go to any extremes when it comes to your health. Artificial means of achieving a great body are costly, life threatening, and are not as fun as joining a gym and making new friends while you improve your health.
